Intelvision is looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer (Linux Storage Systems).
Project description: Our client develops enterprise storage management solutions and storage devices, with several engineering projects running concurrently. The engineer will contribute to various layers of the Linux storage ecosystem, working on kernel-level components, distributed storage systems, performance optimization, and storage services designed to run within Kubernetes environments.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance software solutions for managing enterprise storage infrastructure
- Implement and maintain components of the Linux storage architecture, ensuring high levels of performance, stability, and scalability
- Work on system-level software, including kernel extensions, storage interfaces, and low-level integrations
- Maintain and extend storage-related services deployed in Kubernetes clusters
- Analyze and troubleshoot technical problems involving filesystems, storage drivers, kernel functionality, and infrastructure services
- Conduct performance assessments, identify system bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies using profiling and benchmarking tools
- Work with distributed and parallel storage architectures, supporting their integration into enterprise platforms
- Partner with engineering teams to deliver storage solutions that satisfy performance, availability, and operational requirements
Requirements:
- Extensive practical experience in at least two domains: Linux systems, storage technologies, or parallel file systems
- Proficiency in systems-level development using C; familiarity with Go is beneficial
- Practical experience working with Linux kernel code, including implementation, debugging, and maintenance of kernel modules and I/O subsystems
- Comprehensive knowledge of Linux storage I/O mechanisms, memory management, and process scheduling, particularly in relation to system performance
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues involving kernel functionality, storage drivers, filesystem layers, and infrastructure services
- Hands-on experience with storage platforms and filesystems such as OpenLustre, Ceph, BeeGFS, ZFS, NFS, Samba, or comparable technologies
- Knowledge of SCSI protocols and Linux storage components, including SCST, LIO, and the Linux SCSI subsystem
- Experience analyzing and improving storage performance through profiling, benchmarking, and system-level optimization
- Practical familiarity with Kubernetes, including independent deployment and troubleshooting of workloads within cluster environments
- Knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and internal components, such as etcd, kubelet, CRI, CNI, CSI, controllers, and operators
- Experience developing CSI drivers or working on custom Kubernetes distributions will be considered an advantage
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Go
- Experience building CSI drivers or custom Kubernetes distributions
- Understanding of Kubernetes internals: etcd, kubelet, CRI, CNI, CSI, controllers, and operators
What we offer:
- Remote-first work environment
