About the company
The client helps homeowners and businesses access German government funding for building renovation and energy modernisation. It connects property owners, construction trades, and funding institutions such as BAFA and KfW, managing consulting, applications, and project coordination end to end.
Project Overview
The client was moving from a consulting business into its first enterprise software product and needed engineering capacity it could start fast and grow as the product took shape. The first need was senior backend expertise; the longer-term need was a partner who could expand into integrations, quality and delivery coordination without the overhead of building an in-house team.
Intelvision started with a single senior backend engineer through its Talent as a Service model, onboarded within three business days of the request. As the product scope grew, the engagement expanded into backend and integration development, supported by technical project management and QA, with the client keeping ownership of product priorities throughout.
Challenges
A fast start, then room to grow
The client needed senior backend capacity quickly to keep product momentum, and a partner that could scale from one role into a multi-discipline team as the product matured, rather than a fixed, one-off placement.
Enterprise-grade from the start
Because the product targets enterprise buyers, the work had to account for access control, data protection, auditability and integration with existing collaboration systems from early on, not as a later retrofit.
Integration-heavy product scope
The product depends on deep integrations with collaboration and delivery tools (Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Graph, Jira), so the team needed strong backend and integration engineering, not just feature development.
Solution
Intelvision grew with the product. What started as one senior backend hire became an embedded team, matched to the client’s stack and integrated into its delivery process, with the client keeping product direction and Intelvision supplying the capacity and coordination.
The partnership covered:
- Started with one senior backend engineer, fast. The first request was filled through Talent as a Service, with a matching senior backend engineer onboarded in three business days, giving the product immediate momentum.
- Expanded into backend and integration development. As scope grew, the engagement extended to backend engineering and the integrations the product depends on — Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Graph and Jira — plus operational monitoring and enterprise-readiness work.
- Added QA and delivery coordination. The partnership grew to include QA / testing and technical project management, with Definition of Ready and Definition of Done brought in as delivery-process improvements, so quality and coordination scaled alongside the engineering.
